This presentation provides a brief overview of key design features of a marine terminal. It is presented for those responsible for marine terminals who may or may not have an engineering background, to have a better understanding of the design loads imposed on various infrastructure within a marine terminal. Topics discussed include the design of bulkheads, piers, mooring structures, and berthing structures using the Unified Facility Criteria. Other topics discussed will include facility maintenance, inspection of mooring hardware, cost estimating, and permitting.
